General information

The counting of votes for the 224 constituencies of the state assembly has started in 34 centres.

This is an important vote count that will decide the future of political power in the state.

First the postal votes are counted, then the votes of those above 80 years are being counted. Later, the VVPATs in the strong room were taken out and brought to the vote counting tables and counting started.

113 is the magic number to form a majority government. At present BJP has 116 MLAs, Congress has 69 and JD(S) 29. One BSP MLA, two independents, one Speaker and 6 constituencies have no MLA due to death and resignation.
