State Assembly Election 2023: Declaration of General Holiday on May 10

General information

A general holiday has been declared on May 10 due to the state assembly elections.

A general holiday has been declared for central and state government offices, schools and colleges, associations and private institutions.

In this regard, the Under Secretary of the Government has issued a notification that the polling for the Karnataka assembly elections will be held on May 10. To facilitate voting, the government has declared a general holiday for all central and state government offices, schools, colleges, various associations and private institutions i.e. aided educational institutions on the dates for holding elections in the respective constituencies. This leave will not apply to emergency services.

All government employees deputed for election duties in the wake of state assembly elections shall attend election duty. In order to facilitate the smooth conduct of voting in these constituencies, if polling booths are established in government offices and government schools, the concerned Election Officers have been directed to declare a holiday for such offices and schools on Tuesday 09-05-2023 and on 13-05-2023 only in polling centers where polling takes place.
